April 11 is the day when the Blessing of the Animals takes place in Los Angeles. To honor that day, The Avenue 50 Studio is holding an exhibit of pets and other animals mythologic and fantastic. April 11 is our participation in the NELA Second Saturday Art Night so please join us for artwork of animals, mythological and fantastic creatures filling the walls of the Avenue 50 Annex. The work will be up until May 3.

What a rich and varied piece this is. I would like to know what the fabrics were and the title. Great imagery.

thanks for your kind words! the title of this piece is “the good dog”-because of course he is. i photocopied the victorian image onto fabric and appliqued it onto a vintage 1930′s ticking.
the patchwork is composed of antique fabrics circa late 1800′s to 1900. the heart is cut from an antique crazy quilt and the vine is cut from a spectacular victorian valance
