i just replaced a binding on Lace resurrected,  a piece i did a couple of years ago.  i wasn’t satisfied with how it turned out-so-after some “redos”-i happy to say i like it much better.

i love working with antique and vintage lace-the pattern and texture just pop when dyed or painted.

as you can see-while i was working-some of us were resting.

The hanging is ver lovely and subtle, it draws the viewer in for a closer look.
Boy, get out of the way at dinner time. I like big dogs. They are fun to walk or should I say, try to keep pace with?

I am very curious as to the process you used for dyeing these lovely pieces. I have many of these that I would like to use as well.

The dogs…..they are great! What a photo. Priceless.

What beautiful shades and textures, the colours add depth and interest to the lace, a lovely patchwork, full of summer sunshine! Thank you xx

lace is a fabulous palette! i use dylon dyes-sometimes using a paintbrush to blend them. as for fabric paint-i use whatever is on sale. i like the pearls and the metallics-i water them down to create a translucent look. the beauty of fabric paint is if you are not happy you can just rinse the paint out and start again-have fun!
