New fall workshop schedule
Mavis’ Fall Workshops
Workshops are held on the back patio at the Ten Women Gallery
on Abbot Kinney Blvd in beautiful Venice Beach.
Reservations are required & class sizes are limited.

These workshops are a combination of assemblage & collage. we will be incorporating found objects, treasures & mementos to honor past lives & loved ones.
All materials are included-you are encouraged to bring in personal keepsakes, photos,? cardboard boxes will be provided- you are welcome to bring in a small/medium wood box (cigar boxes work great.)
Altar Assemblage
Construct an altar using photos, mementos, Ephemera, anything goes!

Dia de los muertos Shrine Las memorias de los niño (memories of the children) According to legend, the souls of the children return to Earth as butterflies on all Nov 1st. Using antique frozen charlotte dolls-we will create our own “butterfly souls” in a small shrine.

Make & take workshop” at the Abbot Kinney Festival
Come for the ultimate all day art experience! This “make & take workshop” will coincide with the Abbot Kinney Festival. Make & take “Dia de los muertos Assemblage Traditional
artistic, contemporary-anything goes! We will create A small shrine to remember “la familia”. All materials are included-workshop will run approximately 1 hour.

I ‘ve had a long love affair with these wonderful tiny antique dolls. They were sold as toys from the mid 1800’s to the early 1900’s-known as Frozen Charlotte’s, Penny dolls, bath dolls or Pudding dolls. We will “resurrect” antique frozen charlotte doll’s and compose a lovely miniature framed piece of artwork.
